I am a failure.
I didn’t get my to-do list completed. But I DID get more of my senior seminar book read today than I had planned, which is a very good thing and I DID watch the Halloween marathon on AMC on and off all day. And Best Friend has to work during our lunch hour tomorrow, so I will get my reading done for Shakespeare’s Contemporaries then.

Things Nicole must get done today (because if I...
Write a short paper for my kines class. Read for Shakespeare’s Contemporaries: A Chaste Maid in Cheapside, pages 1453-1480. Read at least 100 pages (preferably more) of The Gold Coast for senior seminar class. Get all of this done and watch Halloween movies because this is, after all, my favorite holiday.

What is it about
a good lined Moleskin that is so comforting? My current one is light purple. On January 1, 2011, I made the New Year’s resolution that I was going to keep a journal of my year. I’ve always had a journal, but always failed at keeping it. I got my first journal in kindergarten, and I can still see it: the cover was that pillowy plastic. It was white and had crayons on the front and...

I hate it when
I sit down to write a short, perhaps insightful post, and it turns into a page of some personal thoughts and feelings that I wouldn’t share with many people. Then I hesitate to post it. It started off as a simple post and now I’m wondering, should I really share this with the tumblrverse? And put it out there for anyone to see? I don’t know. But I do know it’s something I...

Dancing used to be a huge part of my life. I tapped for about seven years before I quit to start playing the piano. I always loved the adrenaline rush I would get on stage, even though I was terrified of missing a step. I loved all-day rehearsals a couple of days before the recitals because it was the first time we all got to see each other perform. I loved the rush of getting in and out of...

totalspiffage: That basically says “if you’re feeling sad, stop wanting to be sad and stop wallowing”. I can understand that maybe that works for people like me who aren’t depressed, but that’s about the worst advice EVER for someone who is. I’m certainly not saying it’s bad advice, or that the person who wrote… I just want to thank you for this post, Tamara. Several years ago, I was...

thegirlsmiles replied to your post: Nicole’s Birthday Weekend, the Final Cut. Awww. Tbh, it’s really refreshing to read something like this. You guys sound like you are an awesome couple. Your love (or something) gives me hope. Awww, thank you. :) I’ve thought before that if everyone had something like what we have, the world would be a happier place. We’re by no means perfect,...

Nicole's Birthday Weekend, the Final Cut.
For Saturday’s dinner, I requested pasta. We make a pretty mean spaghetti sauce. He even stopped at the farmer’s market on Friday to pick up all kinds of fresh vegetables for it—including about five different kinds of peppers, some of them hot. Hellishly hot. You would think that, the two of us being pretty intelligent people would be cautious even after washing our hands many, many...
